Clay: A Festival of Ceramics

I initially set up Devon Pop Ups after I saw the potential to create some exciting events in the Pannier Market in Bideford. After three successful events in my first year, I have expanded to bigger venues with greater capacity for both exhibitors and visitors. It's exciting to be working across a range of venues in 2018.

My aim is to organise events and workshops that I'd really like to go to myself. I figured that if I were excited about an idea, then others might be too.

My backgroud? Well I trained as a journalist and then hopped between writing, marketing, PR and events management for many years in the corporate world. I discoverd clay and studied ceramics part time for about six years and then came across wool. Now I'm hooked and launched Benton's Menagerie in 2014 with the help of a grant from The Arts Council. I make felt & mixed media sculptures which I exhibit and sell in galleries across the UK. I also exhibit at shows such as The Contemporary Craft Festival. My work has appeared the national magazines Country Living and Period Living.

I also run creative workshops at various venues across North Devon as well as from my Bideford studio..

The best place to see what I get up to as Benton's Menagerie is via my Facebook Page
