Slip trail decorated plate

Creative workshop
At Clay: A Festival of Ceramics
Barnstaple Pannier Market
Sunday June 30th
workshop runs from 2pm to 4pm

In this workshop you’ll be working with Mary Cutchee to decorate a leather hard plate (approx 22cm), handmade specially for you. Mary is based at Dartington Estate and has taught and made pottery since 1980.

There will be traditional motifs for you to copy such as birds and patterns or, if you prefer, you can create your own design. Don’t panic, you won’t have to start slip-trailing straight onto your plate as you’ll have the chance to plan your design on paper and map it on to your plate before you start with the clay. You’ll also have plenty of time to practise with the slip-trailer to learn how to use them.

It will take approximately 4 weeks for the plate to fully dry and go through two firings. Your finished plate will be dishwasher and microwave safe. We can arrange delivery of your plate (additional P&P will be charged) or you can collect locally from the Devon Pop Ups HQ in Bideford.

The workshop fee includes FREE entry to the Clay: A Festival of Ceramics. Please bring your booking receipt with you.
